phue: A Python library to control the Philips Hue system

We’ve been interested in intelligent lighting for a while now. In 2010, we created a wireless light bulb prototype with the help of the Arduino platform. This prototype made the headlines of a few blogs like Make and Engadget.

Two years later, Philips came up with a product that is very close to our original vision: The Philips Hue, a wireless LED lightbulb that can change colors and intensity. We quickly started developing a Python library to control this system, with the help of the information found by Ross McKillop.

Here is a little video example :

The code is available on Github

You can also find a lot of information about the system on everyhue.com
